| The Golden Shiner (Notemigonus crysoleucas) is a popular baitfish that is common in the waters of the southeastern US. The can grow up to 14 inches in length (called “mule ears”) and can live up to 8 years old. A bass can eat a shiner up to ½ of it’s own length. We stock them as supplemental forage in bass lakes and have never had a problem with them overpopulating after being stocked. They are some of the most “economical” supplemental forage available. |
